- The cancellation of the option of the employers to purchase products and services from the protected units instead of hiring handicapped persons.
- The increase of the monthly contribution for the handicap fund
The employers with at least 50 employees have the responsibility of hiring handicapped persons in a percentage of at least 4% of the total numbers of employees.
Starting with September 1st, it was cancelled the possibility of the employers to buy products or services from authorized protected units, on a partnership basis, in an amount equivalent to the sums owed to the state budget.
Thus, starting with the date of September 1st, 2017, the companies that do not hire handicapped persons under the above-mentioned conditions will have to pay monthly to the state budget a sum representing the basic minimum gross national salary guaranteed for payment multiplied by the number of the jobs handicapped persons were not hired to.
Example: for a company employing 50 persons, the employer bears the responsibility of hiring two handicapped persons (4% * 50 employees).
The contribution to the handicap fund for the above-mentioned situation is in amount of:
- Before September 1st, 2017: 1.450 lei (2 * 725 lei)
- After September 1st, 2017: 2.900 lei (2 * 1.450 lei)
